VR in the architectural design process
Imagining the proposed outcome of an architectural project isn’t always easy, and architectural drawings can be difficult to understand if you’re not used to them.
While 2D and 3D drawings can help give an idea of what to expect, they are presented in small scale on a flat surface, making it hard to imagine the outcome.
Instead of looking at a flat drawing on a piece of paper, VR allows you to walk around inside the finished design at full scale. This provides a truly authentic view of the outcome and a more engaging design process.
What does virtual reality offer?
Virtual reality removes the guesswork from the design process, as clients are able to explore the proposed design from within, rather than simply imagining the end result.
Everything from lighting solutions to changing weather can be simulated within the virtual space, producing a realistic representation of how the building will function once complete. We can specify different materials to see how they change the look and feel of a room, as well as incorporating interior design choices such as furniture and decoration.
Taking advantage of VR allows clients to make informed decisions and specify any necessary changes to the design before construction begins. This reduces the need for expensive or last-minute alterations, saving time and money on the project.
