Description

The purpose of the Nissen Barn was developed to host wedding ceremonies and other special events.

The building previously housed on the site was a dilapidated Nissen hut used for storage. Therefore, the design theory for the project was simple: recreate the cherished Nissen hut form, bringing it up to current standards of building performance, for its new purpose.

The rust effect cladding against the sustainable glulam structure with glazed sections enhances the experience to create a striking yet familiar structure.

A traditionally styled ancillary block helps tie the new building to the original station building.
